The purpose of Arizona's Hunter Education
Program is to promote safe, knowledgeable and responsible
hunter conduct, to emphasize the importance of hunter
ethics, wildlife management, laws and regulations, and to
encourage the safe handling of firearms and bow hunting
equipment.
This 16 hour Hunter Education Introductory course is one of
three possible courses available to get your lifetime big game bonus point with
the Arizona Game and Fish Department. You will learn about hunter responsibility
and ethics, discover how firearms work and learn about firearms safety. You will
learn wildlife identification, game care, survival and first aid skills, as well
as, develop firearm handling skills and hunting techniques. You will also learn
about wildlife conservation and management.
12 hours of the program are conducted at the Bass Pro Shops
on selected Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights from 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.,
covering all chapters in the "Today's
Hunter in Arizona" guide.
The "Field Day" event is four to five hours in length and is held on a Saturday morning at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility, 4044 W Black Canyon Hwy, Phoenix, AZ, 85086 from 7 a.m. - Noon.
Course Materials are included and will be distributed on Tuesday Night.
Youth under the age of 18 are required to have an adult participant.
Class size is limited to 30 participants.
